Developed and operated by three young professional women, Founder & Executive Director, Felicia A. Minott; Co-Founder & Deputy Director, Shariefah J. Bratcher; and Director of Development & Event Management, Evelyn DeJesus, CPW brings a wealth of fresh perspectives and new ideas to its diverse members through dynamic cohort events. “We want empowered women to empower other women. Our new organization will serve as a networking catalyst, where we will provide the resources and opportunities to help establish valuable contacts, and explore blocks to individual achievements,” said Minott. According to her, adherence to the Consortium’s mission will achieve her goal of creating the most powerful diverse women’s group in business and in the LGBTS community. The organization arranges social events and activities in recognition that leadership is about empowering people and helping them grow and learn. CPW operates through a website, here members can keep track of monthly events, establish contacts, and engage in self & social “Power Reads”, in addition to submitting professional profiles and career succession articles. Their social activities include wine tasting events, cocktail parties, brunch, recreational activities and forums, regarding, but not limited to, the repression of women of color in the workforce.
